Do you wake up on the "right" side of the bed?
Mornings mean that it is a start of a brand new day. What happened yesterday does not need to move into today. We create our own happiness. Through the imperfections, chaos, messiness, we can still show up. Open yourself to the positive energy that surrounds you. Close your eyes, and think of a bubble, or force field (X-Men Style) that surrounds you. Everything inside of that space is peaceful and calm. When things are not adding up in your life, start subtracting. Fill your bubble with love, gratitude, and tranquility.
Say "I am safe in this current place and time, nothing can control me except for me"
My Mornings
1. Seize the Day
I start my morning with an early rise before the sun comes up. I believe that starting my morning with getting dressed and ready puts me in a motivational mood because I'm alive. Plus, giving your self a little self love changes your mindset, makes you feel good, and sets the tone. Add in a little stretch up in the air, and feel all the tension leave your body. Who doesn't love to a stretch?
2. Connect with Nature
While I wait for the morning sunrise, I sit outside listening to the sounds of nature. We have so many types of birds including doves, quail, and hummingbirds that it is incredible to watch them all rise to the morning just like me. Take in every breath while exhaling anything that does not bring you peace.
3. A Cup Full of Joy
Prepare your favorite morning beverage whether it is Hot Cocoa, Tea, or Coffee. I have two different drinks I choose in the morning, which depends on if I am stopping at my local Coffee Shop or making my own magical brew. Most days I have a cup of coffee (Death Wish Full Bean) with Unsweetened Cashew Milk. If I am stopping at my local coffee shop, I absolutely love their Matcha Tea with Coconut Milk. Either way, drink something that gives you a Hug In A Mug. I don't just drink coffee to wake me up, I drink it because it is something that reminds me of my childhood when everything.
4. Social Media (if you choose)
Sorry folks, but I don't even open up Facebook until after I am finishing my Cup of Joy. Why? Too much negativity being plastered all over our pages. However, I do open my Instagram. I absolutely love that my Instagram is filled with amazing Yoga Friends who give off such a positive vibe. I take time to to share my sunrise mornings on my Instagram Stories with those that enjoy it as well. But the key is to be present, and Social Media isn't really being present. So if you can hold off on focusing on your phone or computer, then do it.
5. Work/Life/Balance
Now that I am in a peaceful state, I am ready for work. I do not look at my work emails when I first rise in the morning. Save those emails for when you are ready to work. Some emails can put you in a negative place, and why start your morning this way.
Taking time for yourself is important, not only for you, but for those around you. This is my Morning Rise Self Love Routine that puts everything in perspective from the moment I wake up, to the moment I lay my head on my pillow to rest. How can a person give to others, when they are not giving to themselves? Fill yourself with so much love so you can share it with those around you.
Start your morning with a smile!
