"If I am wanting to learn yoga... where do I start?" I love this question and get it quite often. Some of us have issues with our backs, our knees, shoulders, or hips. I also know many people who suffer from arthritis, fibromyalgia, herniated discs in the neck or back, etc. All of our bodies are different and so many of us may flourish in certain poses, while other poses are not so easy. First of all, I'm not a doctor, but one thing that I have learned through my own personal practice is to understand and listen to your body. It is the #1 rule when doing any form of exercise. Just know that we can all start somewhere.
My Yoga Props
I started with a yoga mat that I purchased from Kohls which worked very well for me. After doing yoga for a year, I decided to purchase a no-slip mat from Gaiam, which has been my favorite mat thus far in my practice. I also purchased 2 yoga blocks, but if I can be very honest, I didn't really even understand what they were used for. I really bought them because they were part of the Gaiam beginners Yoga Pack. Throughout my research and practice, I have an appreciation for these 2 blocks. They are a very helpful when starting the practice of Yoga.

Back to the Basics
I have provided some blog posts of certain poses that are part of the basics and I continue to create new pages to add to my library of poses for some How-To's. Every pose has different variations for different levels that are included in each post. I started this website with the intention to give you a glimpse of how I have started my own at home practice. Thanks to all of you who follow my website or social media, it has grown into something more than just my story.

What Else?
I love the warm weather when practicing. Think about what usually helps when your body is stiff, or your muscles are sore... HEAT. Yes, Hot Yoga is real, and you don't have to take a class to get this experience. My family all knows that when they cannot find me in the house, they can find me outside in the backyard with my mat, under the sun, warming up my muscles.
If you are looking for something a bit more relaxing, fit in some bed time yoga. It will help you relax and get you ready for bed. (Video Coming Soon)
Everyday we have the opportunity to wake up and try something new to invest in our Wellness Journey! If you are not finding what you are looking for, I am open for suggestions. Send me a message right here on my website.
